For the past month and a half, students in Ms. Clark’s 4th, 5th, and 7th grade STEAM classes have been preparing for an exciting Market Day event. Throughout this project, students developed full business plans—creating company names, brainstorming product ideas, and designing their own original products.
Each grade level brought a unique creation to life. Fourth graders designed a portable tic-tac-toe game, Tic Tac Attack by FidgetX. Fifth graders created a spinning gear fidget, Mega Gears 3000 by Fun Fidget Factory. Seventh graders engineered a dancing frog, JitterFrog by Wiggle Central.
Using Tinkercad, students built their designs from the ground up, starting with basic shapes like cylinders and cubes. They carefully constructed each product step by step, adjusting measurements down to the millimeter. After completing their designs, Ms. Clark selected a standout model to be printed and mass-produced.
Once production was complete, students shifted into marketing and sales. They assembled their products into labeled packaging, designed promotional flyers using Canva, and collaborated on commercials to advertise their creations. Our 7th graders even edited their own videos using CapCut. In addition, fourth grade students designed custom stickers, which Mrs. Burch brought to life in Canva and cut using our Cricut machine.
Now, it’s time to showcase all of their hard work—Market Day is here! Our student entrepreneurs will be selling their products in the Commons on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th from 7:30–8:00 a.m. In the spirit of giving back, all proceeds will be donated to a local animal shelter.
Product prices are as follows:
Tic-tac-toe boards and spinning gears: $5
Dancing frogs: $3
Stickers: 50¢
Bonus flexi snake: $3
Donations to the animal shelter are also welcome. Quantities are limited, so be sure to arrive early to grab your favorites!
As you’re visiting for conferences this week, don’t miss the Canva flyers displayed throughout the hallway. You can also view our student-created commercials on our private YouTube page. These videos are unlisted and accessible only through the links below:
