MU College of Engineering seniors are honored for their work every year at a knighting ceremony. When their name is called, students kneel before a person acting as St. Patrick, where they are then tapped on the shoulder with a staff and instructed to kiss the Blarney Stone that sits in front of them.

“It’s our oldest tradition, so we’re really proud that it’s still running,” Ethan Anderson, MU senior and the event’s Knight of St. Patrick, said.

On Sept. 24, The Transfers Experience and Advising Mentors group hosted an outdoor game night at Peace Park for transfer students. The event was held from 6-7 p.m. and included many games such as volleyball, spikeball, football and more. TEAM meets weekly to provide a community for transfer students.

The MU Vietnamese Student Association held its annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival at the Shack on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024. The event educates students about the history and culture behind Zhong Qiu Jie, which is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar.

“The Vietnamese Student Association is an organization that puts on cultural and social events to bridge and unite students on campus. Something I’m proud of is that we are able to put on these kinds of cultural events and bring people closer to home,” VSA president and MU junior Vy Vu said.
