Can you believe that 2023 is our 17th Annual Pack A Purse™ Drive?

DATES: November 1, 2023 - December 5, 2023

PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

-NEW ITEMS ONLY. Please DO NOT collect and distribute any used purse or bag donations in the name of our Annual Pack A Purse™ Drive. ABSOLUTELY NO USED ITEMS ACCEPTED.

-AMBASSADORS will be matched with specific agencies.

-TOILETRIES: Toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, deodorant, lotion, soap, hand sanitizer. FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS ACCEPTED: Unopened or individually wrapped tampons, sanitary pads, and panty liners. No razors accepted.

-NOTE: There will NOT be a Purse Packing party in 2023.

Hello Pack A Purse Drive Ambassadors,

I have to make very specific criteria that must be followed for this year to be a success.

NO USED ITEMS ACCEPTED.
No exceptions. Not even if you ‘clean’ them. A LOT of items had to be thrown away or donated to thrift stores last year. A lot of things were in really bad condition. Some smelled like cigarette smoke.

Since the pandemic, agencies are only accepting new items. NEW items only!

I don’t have the capacity to host a Purse Packing Party this year nor make all the deliveries.

I will pair Ambassadors with specific agencies early so that the agency gets what they need and we are not scrambling last minute.

PLEASE follow the toiletries list of toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, lotion, soap, and hand sanitizer only. Last year I had to throw away razors, condoms, and other unacceptable items.

Can you believe that this is the 16th year of our Annual Pack A Purse™ Drive?

The global coronavirus pandemic has made us reflect and refine in ways we could not have imagined. Covid-19 has permanently changed many facets of society and how we navigate our world. Welcome to our new normal.

Since my ultimate goal is to secure a permanent location where purse and personal hygiene donations can be secured year-round (believe with me), I have decided to continue collecting donations and supporting teen girls in foster care in the same way we did over the last two years. I will not gather donors and volunteers together for a Purse Packing Party in 2022.

The drive will continue, and you can still get involved.

Yes, this year we are moving forward with our Pack A Purse Drive this year.
As you know, since the pandemic, I have decided not to accept used purses. I don't have the personal capacity to clean/sanitize and store them.
Over the last two years, some of our Ambassadors have accepted gently-used purses from their personal networks and included cleaning/sanitizing in their collection process before delivery/distribution to agencies who will accept them.
Be aware that some agencies no longer accept used items.
I plan to launch the drive on November 1st - it still may not look like our pre-pandemic days.
I am open to discussing ways we can once again collaborate.
