Kids are charming. They’re blunt, they’re silly, and they say just about whatever comes to mind. But it’s because of that sincerity that makes them wise; they tell you, plain and simple, what you should or could do. Juxtapose that childish outlook to the more matured, thoughtful perspective of a senior undergraduate student – and you have this story. “The Forest From the Trees” is an article that highlights the joys and wisdom of our youngest students to our oldest scholars. In their words and their advice, there is beauty and joy.

Image 1: A playful moment on a swing set in a park. Two people are swinging; one is seated upright in a denim jumper dress, smiling as she swings forward. Next to her, another person hangs upside down from a swing, wearing a striped sweater and jeans, their long hair cascading towards the ground.
Image Description 2: A young boy dressed in a retro-inspired outfit appears frustrated while interacting with an orange translucent desktop computer. He is gripping the monitor with an open-mouthed shout, emphasizing his frustration or confusion. The setting includes a wooden desk with various colorful pens, a vintage-style keyboard, and a nameplate reading “Real Adult H.Q.” against a background of exposed brick.
Image Description 3: This image shows two people standing on a playground structure with a slide. One person, wearing a light-colored sweater and patterned dress, has long dark hair tied back and looks surprised while leaning on a vertical orange pole. The other person, with short hair, wears a denim jumper over a patterned shirt and is pointing off into the distance with an intent expression.
Image Description 4: The same young boy from the second image is now seated on the desk, holding a retro white landline phone to his ear. He appears serious or contemplative, wearing glasses and the same colorful outfit.
