Good morning! Dangerous heat and humidity continues today, which is why a First Alert Weather Day remains in effect. This afternoon, high temperatures top out around 100 degrees! Factoring in the humidity, at times, it’ll feel as hot as 110 degrees. Because of this, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for the entire Midlands.

The risk of dangerous heat continues for the Midlands through at least the middle of the work week. By Friday, we expect a cold front to drop into the region. Temperatures will drop below average to the 80s heading into next weekend.

First Alert Weather Days continue into the new week with highs in the upper 90s to near 100-degrees. A Heat Advisory will remain in effect for the Midlands until 8 PM Monday evening. We will also start to see the chance of diurnal driven showers and storms increase as well. Any rain could provide a little relief from the high heat.

First Alert Weather Days continue for the Midlands from now until Thursday. By next weekend, the heat backs off with highs in the 80s.

Sunday will be another scorcher with highs in near 100-degees and heat index values up to 110-111. A Head Advisory will be in effect for the Midlands Sunday for the dangerous heat and humidity. Feels like temperatures could run even higher by Monday. An Extreme Heat Watch has already been issued for heat index values as high as 112-113.

First Alert Weather Days will be in place from Saturday until Thursday for the dangerous heat threat. We likely won't see the heat let up until this time next week. Highs will be in the 80s to lower 90s with a better chance of rain.
