Thompson Middle School student Alyse Lewis, 13, is making headlines for her appearances in the Netflix hit series, “Stranger Things.” Lewis plays the character, Wendy, who is a classmate of Holly Wheeler, one of the newly released season’s five main characters.

Child survivors of human trafficking now have a place to heal in Shelby County. Blanket Fort Hope has opened a restoration home that will provide a Christ-centered environment for survivors to heal, grow and rediscover their identity.

The Shelby County Hall of Fame committee presented the annual Cornerstone Awards to the second-ever class of inductees this past Thursday, Oct. 23 at American Village. Those recognized included Butch Ellis, Don Armstrong, Ned Bearden, Mike Joiner, Ellen Corbett, Jackson Campbell and Karl and Mildred Harrison. The selection committee also honored the late Tom Walker, founder of American Village and a member of the first Hall of Fame. Take a look at some of our favorite shots:
