The city is thinking of reinstating a contentious monument of Christopher Columbus that used to stand in front of City Hall. Legislation to be voted on tonight would begin the process of relocating the monument to a "new public area." The city intends to hire a local design firm $253,000 to host public discussions and eventually create "contextual materials" to go with the monument....
