A Well-Designed Address for the Well-Planned Adventure.

Surrounded by tree-lined streets, local parks, and the bustle of the Chattahoochee River combined with the creative and energetic buzz found only in the heart of the Riverwalk, The Rapids ontplace provides the unique opportunity to have the best Columbus has to offer. With studio, one-, or two- bedroom floorplans that combine the comforts of an inviting living space with the modern amenities you expect to find in high-end homes, like designer inspired finishes and natural lighting throughout, The Rapids is ahead of the curve. While the Riverwalk provides unlimited possibilities, you never need to leave the property to be entertained. Socialize in the cybercafé, unwind with a visit to the poolside cabana, or enjoy a game of pool, shuffleboard, ping pong or bocce ball in one of the three lush courtyards. The possibilities are endless at The Rapids.

“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.”

The name Mabella is an ode to the building's history. As an old telephone switch from the late 1800s, the building was home to many conversations that arguably formed Columbus into what it is today. Want those same connections to live on through our establishment, what better connects people than a great steak and a nice glass of wine!

Mabella's interior reflects the hipness of Uptown while also paying tribute to family's storied past. The multi-level restaurant offers several seating options from big parties to bar seating. Come experience the fusion of Columbus history and awesome taste.

Margaret Meredith Art works with beeswax and demar (encaustic)! She owe's it to our bees who make the aromatic wax that sweetens her creating world. Her process involves mark-making on paper and directly onto the substrate and then encasing each layer in wax. It's a hot, messy process, but she loves seeing how each layer works together.

Born and bred in southern Georgia, Mary Margaret Schley Monsees of M Studio cannot remember a time when art was not a part of her life. Her family highly values creativity, and spent her childhood and early adult life immersed in the world of art. She studied art history at the University of Georgia, working in galleries throughout her time in Athens and spending a summer taking studio art classes abroad in Florence, Italy. After college she went on to study a different art form: architecture. She earned my master’s in historic preservation in Charleston, South Carolina, because she wanted to understand this tangible art form that people interact with on a daily basis. The degree intersected her love of history and art perfectly, and it greatly impacted her vision as an artist.

After graduate school she watched from my 9-5 desk job as the once exclusive art industry shifted seemingly overnight with the influence of social media and its ability to create and sustain independent artists. With the encouragement of friends and family, she picked my brushes back up and reunited with her identity as an artist. Her business is in its infancy, and the transition has not been without its share of growing pains, but at the end of each day, she can say she has spent her time painting, and that fills her soul.

United Fence Company strives to be the best at designing, constructing, and installing quality products. Their experience allows them to be more innovative in our approach to your fencing and enclosure needs. They have been in the fence and gate industry for over 50 years, giving an advantage over the competition. Their custom products are manufactured locally at their facility on Miller Road in Columbus, Georgia.

In 1953, Dan Mitchell relocated from Sherman, Texas, to Columbus, Georgia, with the idea of building a full-service fence company. He worked for the next 10 years with local fence companies, and in 1963, Dan teamed with Bryan Pennell and opened United Fence Company. As shown in the photo, it was originally located on Talbotton Road in Columbus. Dan eventually became the company's sole owner, which has operated in Columbus continuously since its inception in 1963.

In 1973, Dan's son Moody joined the company and remained actively involved. Dan's son Mark joined the company in 1984, and in 1991, Moody and Mark became co-owners of the company when Dan retired. In 2000, they built their new office, showroom, and manufacturing facility at 4836 Miller Road, where the business has operated for 17 years.

Over the years, the type of fencing they specialize in has evolved. In the early years of operation, chain link fencing was their main product. In the 1970s, Dan had the foresight to introduce "custom-built wood privacy fencing" to the Columbus area. They continue to install a large amount of this type of fencing.

For more than 50 years, the Mitchells have continued to stay current with their customers' changing preferences and provide excellent quality products and services.

From its start in 1963 to the present day, United Fence Company has helped thousands of commercial and residential customers improve their properties' security, use, and beauty. As one of the largest fence contractors in the southeast, United Fence Company has been committed to excellence in its product design, construction, warranty, and maintenance.

Their Shield of Quality logo is your guarantee, as it has been for over fifty years.
