Is God listening?
Staring at the ceiling
I'm praying for quiet
My own worst enemy
beggin for the silence
Restless thoughts
no matter what I try
I wish they'd go away
But it's worse at night
I need you now
my life is spiraling
Crying out to you
my hands are shaking
I'm calling on you
asking for salvation
I cant do it on my own
I cant take this
I need you now
my life is spiraling
Crying out to you
my hands are shaking
God actively listens to our prayers and concerns, particularly during times of difficulty. Scriptures emphasize that God is very present and that He hears the cries of those who are afflicted.
Psalm 18:6:
"In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears."
Psalm 34:4:
"I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears."
1 Peter 3:12:
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer."
Psalm 22:24:
"For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help."
Psalm 46:1:
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Philippians 4:6-7:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Jeremiah 11:14:
"Do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble." (This verse highlights that God's listening is conditional on our obedience and response to His word.)
