☀️ HEAT ADVISORY: Cooling Stations Open Across Columbus 🧊

With dangerously high temperatures baking the Valley this week—possibly reaching an intense 107° heat index (hello ☀️) our amazing city officials are stepping up in a big way. The Columbus-Muscogee Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Columbus ParksandRecreation, and Columbus Metra Transit System have teamed up to open community cooling stations for anyone who needs a seriously cool, safe escape from the brutal summer heat.

💦 Cooling centers will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. now through Friday at the following welcoming, air-conditioned rec centers:

🏠 29th Street Recreation Center – 501 29th St
🏠 Boxwood Recreation Center – 1068 Enoch Dr
🏠 Carver Park Recreation Center – 6665 Hunter Rd
🏠 Comer Recreation Center – 107 41st St
🏠 Frank Chester Recreation Facility – 1441 Benning Dr
🏠 Michael Fluellen Recreation Center – 2824 8th St
🏠 Northside Recreation Center – 2010 American Way
🏠 Psalmond Road Rec Center – 6550 Psalmond Rd
🏠 Shirley B. Winston Rec Center – 5025 Steam Mill Rd
🏠 Tillinghast Recreation Center – 1425 13th Ave

🚍 METRA buses will also be graciously providing rides to and from cooling stations for anyone needing transportation.
