Hello friends and family! I hope you are doing well. Father’s Day is fast approaching and I am sharing the story of two fathers battling cancer.
Sy, my brother, was surprised with a very rare type of appendiceal cancer last year and needed to undergo emergency surgeries and 12 rounds of chemo to treat his condition. Now he will be undergoing another operation, called HIPEC (HIPEC stands for hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. It’s a cancer treatment where heated chemotherapy drugs are pumped into the abdominal cavity during surgery to kill remaining cancer cells. The heated drugs are delivered directly to the abdominal cavity, targeting the lining (peritoneum) where cancer may have spread.)
On the other hand, our Uncle Rey has also been diagnosed last month with Lymphoma and had undergone surgery to remove a mass on his sc***um. He is awaiting for doctor’s orders for his next line of treatment.
These two people are great brothers but, most of all, best fathers to their children. Your kind hearts would help both of them alleviate financial constraints that this sickness has given their families. Your help will surely ease the burden they are carrying and will definitely give them the boost they need to move on and keep that fighting spirit burning.
