US-based Real Estate investor enstooled sub-chief, promises to woo investments to Dormaa
Mr William Owusu, a United States-based Real Estate Investor has been enstooled as the Ahantrasehene and Amankorahene (sub-chief) of the Dormaa Traditional Area in the Bono Region, with the stool name Baffour Owusu Sika Aduomi.
Baffour Aduomi, 52 years old, popularly known as “Osika” is also the General Secretary of the Council of Bono and Ahafo Associations of North America (COBAANA), a group of Bono and Ahafo citizens resident in North America spearheading the development of Bono and Ahafo Regions.
He owes allegiance to Osageyfo Oseadeeyo Dr Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, also the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
As the tradition of the chiefs and people of Dormaa demands, Baffour Aduomi, the king makers of the traditional area took Baffour Aduomi through traditional rites to seal his enstoolment at a colourful ceremony held at the Dormaa Abanpreduase Palace in the presence of Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II.
He was later carried shoulder-high by the people and paraded through the principal streets of Dormaa-Ahenkro.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Baffour Aduomi said he had prioritised development and indicated his commitment to support the progressive development of the traditional area.
Baffour Aduomi said he had numerous connections home and abroad, assuring to use his connections to woo investments and to better the lives of the Dormaa people, saying facilitating accelerated development remained collective responsibility.
He said he was optimistic that with the cooperation and support of the people as well as the chiefs of the area, the development of the traditional area would be brought to the next level, assuring to serve the people in humility and with diligence.
Baffour Aduomi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II, the king makers as well as the sub-chiefs and the entire people of Dormaa, for the honour done him, pledging his commitment to also support create employment opportunities for the youth in the area.
