Sometimes a good homeschool morning looks like a long bike ride with your big kids. 🚲☀️
We were all tired. Nobody really wanted to do the regular routine. So instead of pushing through just because that’s what we “should” do… we blew it up for the morning.
We got outside. Rode our bikes. Enjoyed creation. Enjoyed each other. Chilled a little.
But also worked out, so obviously we were still being responsible. 🤣
And you know what? I think mornings like this matter.
As our kids get bigger, relationship matters more and more. There will always be another lesson to finish, another box to check, another thing we could accomplish. But sometimes the best thing we can do is break the mold, step outside the normal rhythm, and simply enjoy our kids.
Homeschooling gives us this beautiful freedom—not just to educate differently, but sometimes to say, “You know what? Today we need each other more than we need the schedule.”
So be encouraged, y’all. ❤️
Break the mold every once in a while. Go for the bike ride. Take the hike. Sit in the sunshine. Laugh together. Let the schedule bend.
The relationship you’re building with your kids is part of the education, too.
