Girls Inc. of Columbus Our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold in an equitable society. The Girls Inc.

Experience combines people, environment, and programming to empower girls to succeed. Trained staff and volunteers build lasting, mentoring relationships in girls-only spaces that are physically and emotionally safe and where girls find a sisterhood of support with shared drive, mutual respect, and high expectations. Hands-on, research-based programs provide girls with the skills and knowledge to set goals, overcome obstacles, and improve academic performance. Informed by girls and their families, we also work with policymakers to advocate for legislation and initiatives that increase opportunities for girls. At Girls Inc., girls grow up Strong (healthy), Smart (educated), and Bold (independent).

💫United Way Kickoff at Girls Inc.💫

Girls Inc. of Columbus & Phenix-Russell hosted its United Way Kickoff at Girls Inc.’s Dorothy Hyatt Center! For the last few years, 100 percent of the Girls Inc TEAM has given to United Way. The Kickoff Celebration was an opportunity to contribute financially to United Way and show appreciation for all their support.

The celebration culminated in a friendly but intense Scavenger Hunt where team members formed 4 teams and scoured the community looking for everything from finding a police officer to eat a donut with to bagging a stranger’s groceries to loading groceries to finding a statue to striking the “Charlie’s Angels” pose and so much more. The winning team - Team 1 - enjoyed boasting rights PLUS some much-sought after PTO. The activity promoted teamwork while staffers learned historical facts and current events about the wonderful Fountain City! ⛲

Thank you, United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley , for supporting Girls Inc.! You inspire our community daughters to be strong, smart, and bold‼️ ❤️🤍❤️

We appreciate you as our Community Partner‼ 🤝💚💙

✨Happy Columbus Day✨

Today's Historical Fact:

Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer sailing under the Spanish crown who crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1492 in search of a westward route to Asia. On October 12, 1492, he reached an island in the Caribbean, marking the beginning of sustained contact between Europe and the Americas. 🌏

🌎 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Today, Girls Inc. of Columbus & Phenix-Russell proudly recognizes Indigenous Peoples’ Day—a time to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

Indigenous communities have shaped our nation’s history and continue to make meaningful contributions to our communities today. This day reminds us of the importance of learning from the past, honoring diverse cultures, respecting Indigenous voices, and supporting a future rooted in understanding and inclusion.

At Girls Inc., we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, lead, and use her voice. Today, we encourage our community daughters to HONOR • RESPECT • LEARN and to celebrate the strength and resilience of Indigenous Peoples.

❤️ Together, we recognize the past, support the present, and uplift the future.
