More on why Sid Wilson was fired from Slipknot.
TMZ reports the group "finally had enough of Sid's behavior," with sources pointing specifically to the way he treated his bandmates. He was told Friday afternoon he was officially out, and sources describe the decision as "a long time coming," not an abrupt one.
Slipknot had planned to announce the split themselves this week. Sources say the early reveal caused the band to "freak out behind the scenes," with members frustrated they could no longer announce it on their own terms.
Wilson joined in 1997 and spent 29 years as the band's DJ and keyboardist. No replacement has been named.
He also quietly called off his engagement to Kelly Osbourne back in March.
Slipknot hasn't publicly addressed the departure, and Wilson stayed silent when asked directly about the firing.
