Rice Consolidated senior Avan Woolridge committed to the Blinn College Men’s Basketball program Monday.

Woolridge was part of the Rice Raider basketball team’s back-to-back playoff appearances in 2025 and 2026. Woolridge was a major contributor for rebounds, blocks, steals and a solid shooter from both inside and outside. He will join the Buccaneers as a redshirt freshman.
Woolridge is the son of former Citizen Publisher Alesia Woolridge.

Woolridge thanks these three people for helping him get to Blinn College with their coaching and mentorship: Raider basketball coach John Paul Hunter, AAU coach Robert Bennett and RCISD Athletic Director Brad Dumont.

Congratulations Avan!
