This month, we'll be featuring each of our 2026 Local Filmmakers Grant recipients and sharing a little about their respective projects.

Introducing Paul Rowe, creator of this year's winning project 'Die Alone.' Six months after an apocalypse reshapes America, a contract killer crosses the devastated South to honor one final job. Die Alone is a high-concept survival thriller feature film centered around the themes of grief, guilt, and human connection.

This project is brought to you by Paul Rowe of Last Caress Productions, Trey Walker of Mud Films, and producer Andy Carpenter.

We are so PROUD of this Columbus-filmed project. Check it out at the Atlanta Film Festival this Friday, May 1!

🐣 Shot in Columbus: Oh Happy Day! 🐇

Ivan Rome, a Georgia filmmaker, is the director and screenwriter of “Oh Happy Day!,” which will screen at the Atlanta Film Festival on May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Tara Theatre.

Filmed in Columbus, the 12-minute short follows a shy, young boy trying to impress his crush over the course of Easter week. It received the audience award in the student short film category at the Charlotte Film Festival.
A lighthearted coming-of-age story, the film offers a charming and heartfelt look at young love.
