My first-ever philo inflo 🥹✨

Caught this beauty on Sunday night while experimenting with an old Nikon camera my wife gifted me. I’ve been watching the inflo grow for weeks, and she finally decided to make her debut!

This is my Philodendron Jungle Boogie, happily climbing a moss pole. I brought her home in December 2023 and got her on a pole by April 2024. In just over a year, she’s truly matured and is showing off in the best way.

I’m not sure what I’ll do with the inflo yet, but I had to share this moment—it’s so cool to see the progress 🌱✨

P.S. I’ll be playing around with this camera a lot, so… get ready to see more! 😜

Any tips on what to do with this inflo? Help a plant parent out!

Anthurium Queen of Hearts via . I guess no one tell her Halloween was over. Her newest emergent is so darky and moody 🫣✨ Can’t wait to see it hardened off. The texture is gorgeous.

Recently repotted with mycorrhizal. Can wait to check those roots in a few weeks.

Anthurium Dressleri x Forgetti for ✨🌱 She’s a little beat up but thriving. Not perfect, but perfect for me.

After a fresh repot with mycorrhiza and Foliage Pro, she’s adjusting well. She was used to lower light and humidity, but now she’s under bright light with 60-70% humidity.

I think the brighter light darkened her latest leaf (see second pic), so I’m expecting the next one to be just as dark—but hopefully less melted! 😂

My Anthurium Mag x Crystallinum just hardened off her 3rd leaf since acclimating to about 60% humidity. A simple hybrid but a beauty nonetheless. I wish I could have captured the shimmer ✨🌱

She’s potted in chunky aroid mix and just got her moss topper today because I think after her next leaf we’re going to love her to ambient. For watering, at least once a week and typically only bottom watering for now. Fed with foliage pro and mycorrhiza at most waterings.

✨🌱Getting a few more of the outside plant babies into quarantine. So many spiders coming out the pot but I’m ready and prepared:

1. Hose down plant and drown the soil as well as all of the drainage holes. Rinse down the pot top to bottom and any saucers, attached or not

2. Check any repotting needs, add systemic granules and gently soak soil

3. Spray outside of pot with instant bug spray

4. Spray plant leaves with insecticidal soap

5. Add gnat drops to soil

6. Place in quarantine spot and add a bit more bug spray around pot and the perimeter of the quarantine spot. I make sure the plant can still get some light or sun during quarantine so the plant can be at its best shape during the transition and fighting off any lingering pests

7. Wait 2-4 days before bringing in (at least). Check leaves again for pests and spray with insecticidal soap and treat with preventative indoor plant pest treatments. You can quarantine inside as well. I am not.

8. Pull those grow light out 😂

Good morning! 🌞 Woke up to some freshly unfurled leaves, making my slow transition indoors even harder! ✨🌱

🫶🏾 Philo McDowell – Got her as a rehab from a seller. She had spider mites and wasn’t happy. After some outdoor TLC, she’s just unfurled her happiest leaf yet! 🥹 Perfect heart shape.

👏🏾 Monstera Deliciosa – I’ve been showing y’all her glow-up all summer! Look at those fenestrations! She wasn’t even producing leaf splits before going outside. Now, she’s thriving! I know y’all fear outdoor pests, but don’t worry—you can treat the plants later. Put them outside in the warm months!

🤤 Philo Atabapoense – She’s such a looker! I love the burgundy underside. I got her from a local nursery sale here in Columbus, and she’s been thriving ever since. Time to get her on a support soon.

Plant life is hard and my health has not been the best lately so it’s been even harder to keep up with my plants😭 Want to know my fav plant hack? . . Honestly if I didn’t have @planta_app idk how I’d keep up with 200 plants without more casualties. I have the paid version so even when I’ve been MIA I always come back knowing the last time I cared for my plants, what they looked like, notes on pests and growth, repots, fertilizing, etc., so it’s much easier to just jump right in ✨🌿 . . Of course no plant app knows exactly what@your plant will need, even if you try to add the most accurate information, but having the app takes a lot of guess work out. I can just check the plant before performing an action the system says it should be time for, and if it’s not I can skip the reminder or snooze if for a few days to check back.
