Wright’s career spanned more than four decades, with memorable roles in The Wanderers, Streamers, V, The Principal, Sugar Hill and HBO’s Oz. But for generations of fans, his portrayal of Eddie King Jr. remains his defining performance and a lasting part of Black cinema.
