Manifesting the Vision: Tremendicon 2026 Recap 🕷️
Still processing this past weekend because it was easily one of the most incredible con experiences I've ever had! 😅
This was my first "bigger con," and to say it was a success is a MASSIVE understatement.
🎸 Day 1: Spider-Punk Takes Over 🕷️
Day 1 was pure Spider-Punk CHAOS, and I have never taken so many photos in my life!
Kids, adults, staff, fellow cosplayers—literally everyone had something amazing to say. 😅
I couldn’t even get my mask fully on before the con staff approached me, and they ended up tracking me down five or six different times throughout the day just to get content for the official con page! 😂
Let me tell you, hearing people say "This is the best Spider-Punk I've ever seen" is straight baffling.🤯
Out of all those incredible interactions, the absolute highlight of the floor was a little boy who thought I was 2000% the real Spider-Man. I truly hope I made his day as special as he made mine.
The maker community energy was also unmatched. I got to share space with this awesome cosplayer named Michael! He was rocking an absolute masterpiece of a Xenomorph suit that he handmade from scratch.😲
Yet while we were standing in the lineup for the cosplay contest, he came over to me and said, “Hey, after the contest, I TOTALLY need to get some cool pictures with you!” Huge respect to a fellow creator for that level of craftsmanship! 🤘🏼
While I missed out on 1st place by just ONE. SINGLE. point, judge Dennis Butt of Butthead Studios awarded me an official Honorable Mention right then and there! Stating that the way I embodied my character was absolutely spot on.
After the stage cleared, we dipped out and celebrated the win with some well-deserved sundaes at Braum’s!🍦
🩸 Day 2: Ghostface Jones & The Aftermath🔪
For the second day, I brought out my original tactical loadout, Ghostface Jones!
Swapped masks so I could actually SEE the vendor floor (since vision problems in the punk mask are real) 😅
Getting my eyesight back let me slow down and make some unforgettable connections!👇🏼
David A. Frizell: I stopped back by his booth so he could put a face to the name. We geeked out over how he broke into his art career, how he knew my dad, and his history working with legendary bands. When I handed him one of my custom business cards, he gifted me a set of WICKED wallet prints that weren’t even out on the table! 😱
Karen Whitfield: Got to meet the legendary, original Bronze Age Batgirl. She was literally about to leave and take off her suit, but she was kind enough to turn right around just to make sure we got our pictures together. Absolute class act🦇
TwinPop Props: Stopped by to drop off a business card and ended up chatting with Brandon about his dope Skeletor suit. The second I revealed I was the Spider-Punk from Day 1, the energy shifted. He told me straight up that he wanted me to win the contest😂 Explaining that even though they only award 1st place, the judges were so completely baffled by my work that they wanted to make sure I knew my cosplay was impeccable. He gave me some killer advice and insisted I need to start hitting even bigger cons.
Literally not even ten minutes after that conversation, I ran into Dennis Butt, and it turned out he and Brandon were actually talking about me right before I walked up! I handed Dennis a card and told him all about what I do with ImagiMasks.
He then poured out so much encouragement and told me that he had actually just done a panel earlier that day talking about how much he enjoyed the way I embodied the character and carried myself on stage!
To add to the craziness, his wife had come up to me earlier in the day; she’s a chiropractor and literally recognized my walk from the night before, even though I was in a completely different suit! 😂
By the end of the day, both Brandon and Dennis were insistent that next year, I need to skip the contest entirely and be back at Tremendicon on the other side of the table as a vendor.😵
📸 Crew & Family Shoutouts
A massive shoutout to Pense Productions to close out the weekend. This man is absolutely DEDICATED to getting the perfect shots, and his passion for his craft is undoubtedly unmatched. It was such a lovely experience working with him!
Last, but definitely not least, a massive shoutout to my wonderful girlfriend, Morgan Moore🥰 She is 37 weeks pregnant and STILL walked the floor with me all weekend long to support the vision 🤍 Thank you, my love 😘 I couldn't have done it without you!
Tremendicon 2026 is officially in the books, but the grind never stops.💥
Should I take the punk to more cons? 🤔
Or what to make next?💭
