Both Tvice and Kaï are in the process of taking Haitian Times to court for breach of contract for their annual Kreyol Fesitival at Wingate Park.
Both Tvice and Kaï performed at the Kreyol Fest this Summer and were promised to get paid right after the festival according to Richard Cave, band leader of Kaï. When Gary Pierre Pierre was confronted after the show by both Kaï and Tvice, he showed them an check from Health Plus, who was one of the sponsors of the festival and promised both bands that they would get paid as soon as the check was cleared. They both agreed, but they never heard from Garry again. When they tried to reach out to him, they learned that Garry was vacationing in Africa.
This is not the first time that Haitianbeatz is reporting on such stories, where bands leaders have threatened to sue Haitian Times over their annual festival. This time, it seems it’s for real because a letter has already been sent to Garry Pierre Pierre of the Haitian Times from the lawyer that represent both Tvice and Kaï. “Garry did the same thing to Carimi, Fito had let it go, but this time I’m dead serious, I’m not going to let it go” stated Richard Cave, “Garry has to understand, this is our job, we work, we deserved to get paid. While his child is attending Ivy league school, he’s stealing from others” he continued.
Roberto Martino, leader of TVice also took to social media, to denounce Garry’s behavior and also announced his intention to sue theHaitian Times.
When Garry first received the letter from Tvice and Kaï’s lawyers, he replied and agreed to pay Kaï, but stated that he would not pay Tvice because Tvice did not perform. Then Tvice’s lawyer, presented Garry with the video of Tvice ‘s performance at his festival, Garry never replied back.
HB reached out to Haitian Times’ Editor in Chief, Vania Andre, she stated that she only learned about this matter when we reached out to her.
Stay tuned for more on this developing story…

Official statements from Tvice and Kaï
Kai and TVice wish to jointly address an issue concerning Kreyol Fest 2017, which took place in Brooklyn, New York. Both bands enjoyed performing for the fans, we love what we do. But, like everyone else, we expect to be paid by those who hired us. After the Fest, we were never paid. Since June 18, 2017, Gary Pierre Pierre, has refused to make good on his end of the deal. He has ignored our texts and calls. He has given our attorney the run around. It is a shame that it has come to this, but we refuse to let another year go by and get the same treatment we have gotten from him in the past. We hope that this statement will help to resolve this issue quickly and look forward to hearing from Pierre soon.
