Sorry to hear about the passing of Cliff Eckle, former Ohio History Connection curator and guest on Ohio v. the World. We want to acknowledge his massive contributions to Ohio history and our condolences to his family and friends on his unexpected passing. Our newest episode of Ohio v. the World is the story of another little known American War: the Punitive Expedition in Mexico (1916-17). It was sparked by Pancho Villa’s raid on Columbus, New Mexico on March 9, 1916. Sound up for this clip of how Villa and his men killed 18 Americans. Within days the US Army invaded northern Mexico.
