Adams Street Dance Festival was a great time. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, effort, energy, and equipment to help bring Toledo together. We are fortunate to have such a well-connected community and we hope to see this thing grow.
On behalf of The Ination, we would like to specifically thank Handmade Toledo for hosting and showing us amazing hospitality. We encourage you to visit there; inquire about booking your shows there, as well as sending your friends to check out some amazing local art. The ownership was top-tier and made us feel like we were meant to play in that building. We certainly share similar values and we couldn't be happier about that. There was some real camaraderie between the venue staff/ownership (Jessica & Brad) and ours; celebrating with an end of the night toast. The venue itself, feels like an endearing studio set plucked from an 80's film. It was a former boxing club, amongst other interesting historical footnotes that deserve Toledo's attention and patronage.
Thank you to one of Toledo's GOATs, and someone we consider to be an honorary Ination 'sixth-man,' Low End FreQ / DJ Daddy (Afterdark Sessions Recordings), for letting us borrow a sub.
Thank you to Ghoztbomb, Hʌvok, and Lucia for really putting in the extra work for us, organizing our stage, and bridging the communication between festival and Ination teams. Thank you to our door volunteers - Cecilia, Lucia Liner, Sean Wheeler, and Hotpxl (who took time away from his Afterburner Records duties to cover a shift) - Afterburner is a spiritual sister-collective to Ination and an up and coming record label for Toledo to be curious about; Projekt Nimbus (Jay) being a highlighted addition to their roster. We encourage you to check out more of their events. Shouts and thanks to Rux Ton as well, for the in-depth work on the fest. We appreciate you. Special shouts to Jade Lathon as well, for all of your extensive work!
Thank you to Broc Curry and Christian for bringing the businesses and collectives together for this. Everyone is aware of the task and appreciative of your passionate efforts to better Toledo's music/art scene for the last few decades now. They are definitely putting in the work at Frankies, The Ottawa Tavern, Cla-Zel Theater, Innovation Concerts, etc.
Without question, I'd like to thank our team -- our newest additions: DJ Dustbunny and Ghoztbomb, alongside our features - Dahlia Parton (who destroyed a techno set and drove 3.5hrs from Cincinnati with her dad to be there) alongside DJ Sarah Monster - a founding member of The Ination, who does what she does... comes out of a 2-year DJ hiatus and rips an awesome set. Add to that, the legendary crew of Dj Darks Choir, Pink Heartbrake, and Hʌvok with our longtime photographer Montegraph, Lucia (social media), and Sean Wheeler (production assistant) and you've got our own family of people we're all proud to share time with.
Most importantly, thank you to all of our patrons; our friends and family who continue to support us. We do our best to bring you the best we have to offer. I've certainly played better sets (had some technical s**t happen in the first 15 min), but I was anchored by a great team and friends who never wavered from the floor. Thank you as well, to all the new faces who experienced what The Ination brings to NW Ohio and beyond. Please take a chance and check out our 27th Anniversary events:
