Local artist and comic book artist Kevin Zeigler has created a comic exploring the history, sightings, and theories surrounding the Mill Race Monster—and it’s a fun new way to experience a legend that has been part of Columbus for decades.

You can pick up a copy at the Visit Columbus, Indiana Gift Shop and take a closer look at the story for yourself.

Do you remember hearing the stories about the Mill Race Monster?

For decades, this legend has been passed from one generation of Columbus residents to the next. Whether you believe there was really something lurking around Mill Race Park or you think it was just a great local tale, it’s become a piece of our community’s history.

I decided it was time to revisit the mystery.

Over the next few months, I’ll be exploring the history behind the Mill Race Monster—digging through old newspaper articles, talking with people who remember the original stories, and visiting the places where the legend began.

Now I need your help.
