I apologize if this comes across as a little angry, but I’m human and we should also be concerned right now.

Another human being was killed by federal immigration agents in Minnesota.

Not a caricature. Not a talking point. A real person. With a life, a family, and a future that’s now gone.

And spare me the bu****it about “they’re just doing their jobs” or “they’re enforcing the law.”

It is well-documented that ICE repeatedly does not follow the law.
They have arrested U.S. citizens.
They have detained people with legal status.
They routinely fail to present judicial warrants — and when they do, they’re often administrative warrants that do not authorize entry or arrest.
They’ve been caught mocking, threatening, and intimidating people on camera.
They’ve obstructed local investigations.
They’ve violated due process.

That isn’t law enforcement. That’s abuse of power.

And let’s kill another lie while we’re here: undocumented immigrants are not responsible for most violent crime. That claim has been debunked over and over again. This is manufactured fear, followed by a performative show of force, so politicians can pretend they’re “keeping you safe” while doing absolutely nothing to fix our broken immigration system.

If you support this and call it “law and order,” you don’t understand immigration law. At all.
If you’re angry at immigrants instead of the lawmakers who refuse to reform an archaic system, you’re being played.
And if you call yourself a Christian while defending this cruelty, then you are openly rejecting the teachings of Jesus in favor of fear, power, and violence.

This isn’t politics.
This isn’t a game.
This isn’t a joke.

This is human life.
And anyone still cheering this on should be deeply ashamed of what they’re willing to justify.

Fear doesn’t just shape politics.
It shapes people.

Today we’re publishing a new essay titled “Fear Is the Real Religion of Authoritarianism.” It explores how fear is cultivated over time, how it distracts us from real solutions, how it creates scapegoats, and how it slowly reshapes our moral imagination — often without us noticing.

This isn’t a hot take.
It isn’t a partisan rant.
And it isn’t about telling anyone what to believe.

It’s about patterns — historical, biblical, and human — and about learning to recognize when fear is being used as a substitute for truth, courage, and accountability.

But today, an ICE agent opened fire on a woman sitting in her vehicle in Minneapolis—and she is dead.

The Bible may be debated on many things.
How we treat immigrants and the vulnerable is not one of them.

You can argue policy.
You cannot defend dehumanization, state violence, or bloodshed and still claim the teachings of Jesus.

History is very clear about where that road leads.

Watch. Listen. Sit with it.
