UPDATE: Firefighters continued making progress Tuesday on the Rumsey Fire near the Colusa-Yolo county line.

The fire has grown to 450 acres and is now 15% contained. More than 175 personnel, supported by air tankers, helicopters, hand crews, dozers and engines, are working to strengthen containment lines after making gains overnight.

Looking for something different to do next Thursday? The Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series returns July 23 with Sinkane, the internationally recognized musical project of Ahmed Gallab. Blending funk, Afrobeat, pop, electronic music and Sudanese influences, Sinkane brings a unique sound to Veterans Memorial Park for a free community concert.

The evening begins with a special performance by the Performing Arts Camp at 6 p.m., followed by Sinkane at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be available from the Colusa Rotary Club.
