UPDATE: Firefighters continued making progress Tuesday on the Rumsey Fire near the Colusa-Yolo county line.

The fire has grown to 450 acres and is now 15% contained. More than 175 personnel, supported by air tankers, helicopters, hand crews, dozers and engines, are working to strengthen containment lines after making gains overnight.

The Yuba-Sutter Freebirds head into the second half of the Pioneer Baseball League season looking to bounce back after a difficult finish to the first half.

Despite dropping five of their final six games, there were bright spots, including the hot bat of Andrew Kirchner, who has been one of the league's top hitters since joining the team. Now, the Freebirds are focused on turning things around as they chase a playoff spot.
