..FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
counties, Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Concho, Runnels and Taylor.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 516 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brownwood, Coleman, Ballinger, Early, Winters, Santa Anna,
Paint Rock, Bangs, Cross Plains, Blanket, Lawn, Novice,
Silver Valley, Valera, Glen Cove, Talpa, Voss, Crews, Oplin
and Benoit.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Gifford at Beaver, Austin Street at Avenue G, Belle Plain at
Romines, Good Shephard at 11th, Magnolia at Belmeade, Indian
Creek at 9th, 4th Street at Wood, Willis at Belmeade, Cordell
at Anderson and Austin Street at Avenue J.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
