It’s been a minute! 😅 Between all the long hours we’ve been putting in, this is about the only waterfall we’ve gotten to enjoy lately… 🚿💦😂

We’re definitely overdue for a real adventure. We can’t wait to hit the road, find some trails, chase a few waterfalls, and make some new memories. Until then, we’ll keep dreaming and planning the next escape!

Where should Jack & Jill explore next? 🥾🌲🏞️👇

📍 Alto, GA (May 23, 2026)

Tonight we drove out to the scene of the train derailment in Alto… just a few miles from home. Seeing the damage up close, one thing became very clear — this situation could have been much worse.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a Norfolk Southern train struck a lowboy trailer at the crossing on Old Cornelia Highway and Yonah-Homer Road in Alto.

The twisted metal and aftermath tell the story of just how serious the impact was. Most importantly, we’re thankful no injuries were reported.

Sharing a few photos from the scene tonight. Please continue to keep everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers.

What a busy weekend! We went to Billy Cain Ford this afternoon and walked around a car show. We got there when they were about to shut down. We saw most of the cars. What I enjoyed was watching them leave and some of them tried to show out. Some had talent and skill and others well let’s just say they need some practice doing burn outs. 🤣

Here’s a few pictures that we took.

Well y’all… apparently the Gwinnett Stripers don’t trust the players to pick up their own bats anymore 😂⚾️

They’ve got their very own “bat dog” running the field recovering bats, and honestly… that pup might have the best job in baseball. 🐶

Jill was worried about the blue-haired people watcher… meanwhile I’m over here trying to figure out how the dog got promoted

Wellllll… after what feels like 47 years of nonstop work chaos, Jack & Jill finally escaped for a night out 😂🍻

We headed to watch the Gwinnett Stripers play ball ⚾ and somehow Jill became completely fascinated with a random blue-haired girl in the crowd 💀🤣

Not in a jealous way… more in a “this is the most entertaining people-watching experience of the night” kind of way 😂

Now Jill’s talking about dyeing her hair blue too, so if y’all see her looking like a Smurf next week… mind your business 🩵🤣

Good food, baseball, people watching, and a much-needed night away from the madness 😎

Over the weekend, I took some time off to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday with a trip to Ft Lauderdale. Following a departure from Jackie in Commerce/Cleveland, we embarked on our journey, flying out on Saturday and returning late Sunday. This trip marked my first time flying, and while I had some initial reservations, I ultimately enjoyed the experience. The flight itself was quite pleasant, whereas the airport experience was less so. One challenge I encountered was finding sweet tea in Ft Lauderdale. Although the water was stunningly clear and beautiful, the lack of audible waves made it less reminiscent of beach destinations like Daytona or St Augustine. Overall, the beaches were somewhat disappointing.

Here’s a few pics from my trip.

Took a trip to East Jackson High School tonight and watched the Eagles 🦅 fly high against Social Circle! Is the regular season really coming to an end? Time is flying, and Allison's games are slipping away. She's been playing soccer ⚽️ for what feels like forever! The final score was 3-0, another win for the Eagles, yeah!

Next games will be for the state championships !
