🎉 Today, we honor the life and legacy of the incomparable Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune — educator, activist, presidential advisor, and proud graduate of Barber-Scotia College.

Born on this day in 1875, Dr. Bethune’s visionary leadership shaped the future of education, civil rights, and Black women’s empowerment. Her impact continues to inspire generations to rise, lead, and serve with purpose.

At Barber-Scotia College, we are proud to claim her as one of our own. Her legacy lives on through the mission we uphold every day.

Today Paul Coubal a recent graduate of Central Cabarrus High School stopped by campus today to bring his final paperwork for enrollment. He is a rising freshman and will be playing baseball this Spring.

He will be a part of the historic class that will revive Barber-Scotia College. Welcome Paul to Saber Country.

Thank you to the Xi Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Betata Sigma Fraternity, Inc. located in Detroit, MI for their generous $1,000 donation to the Presidential Legacy Circle Scholarship Fund.

Last night they presented a check to President Rey. They have committed to giving $1,000 each year for the next five years.

This long term commitment will provide much needed scholarships to our incoming students this fall.

Our Resident Hall know as “Faith Hall” is in need of some serious Spring Cleaning. Join the Saber Family on Sunday, June 29th, starting from 8am until 6pm to help us give it a real good cleaning.

Today Presidet Rey welcomed Rep. Mark Harris to the campus of Barber-Scotia College. Rep. Harris represents the congressional district that Barber-Scotia sits in. President Rey presented the Congressman with a BSC Rising T-Shirt and the Congressman presented the President with a congressional challenge coin. Welcome to Saber Country Congressman.
