🌳💙 BARBER-SCOTIA COLLEGE IS GROWING!

We are excited to announce that Barber-Scotia College has received a $32,000 grant from the National Religious Partnership for the Environment to plant more than 100 trees and bushes across our historic campus!

Special thanks to Rev. Michael McClain and NRPE for investing in our future.

As we approach 160 years, we are not just restoring buildings—we are planting seeds of hope for generations to come!

👑💙 🩶A HISTORIC TRADITION RETURNS TO BARBER-SCOTIA COLLEGE! 💙 🩶👑

After nearly 10 years, we are proud to celebrate the return of Mr. and Miss Barber-Scotia College!

This moment is about more than crowns, sashes, and titles. It represents the rebirth of tradition, the restoration of student leadership, and the resurgence of Saber Pride!

For generations, Mr. and Miss Barber-Scotia have represented the excellence, dignity, scholarship, and leadership of our historic institution. Today, a new generation steps forward to carry that legacy.

As we approach 160 years of history, we are not simply remembering our past. We are reclaiming our traditions, rebuilding our institution, and writing a powerful new chapter!

Congratulations to our newly crowned Mr. Barber-Scotia College Jakobie Abrams and Miss Barber-Scotia College Alana Stokes! Wear your crowns with pride, lead with purpose, and always remember the shoulders upon which you stand.

Special recognition to Dr. Tiffany Tuma, for her tireless work with our students and making sure we bring this tradition back to our historic campus.

There are so many special moments from our Homecoming Weekend that we will be sharing in the days ahead, but this one deserves a moment of its own.

President Chris V. Rey had the honor of presenting a very special gift to North Carolina A&T State University Chancellor James R. Martin II, Ph.D., following his inspiring message as our Fall 2026 Convocation speaker.

Rather than presenting the traditional plaque, Barber-Scotia College reached into its archives and presented Chancellor Martin with something far more personal, a historic photograph of his mother and her graduating class from June 1955, along with additional archival information documenting her time at Barber-Scotia College.

It was an emotional moment, a powerful reminder that Barber-Scotia’s history lives through generations, families, and the thousands of lives touched by this institution.

Our story is not over.

We are honoring the legacy of those who came before us while boldly writing the next chapter of Barber-Scotia College, a chapter we believe will be even greater than the last.

The legacy continues. The story continues. Barber-Scotia is RISING!
