Tarotunes Join Heather and Stan every Thursday at 9pm Eastern for this exploration of music through the tarot, and tarot through music. All are welcome!

Stan Cocheo invited Heather Gaffney-Darnell to come onto his show, Musical Conversations. She used the opportunity to do a reading for the coming year, throwing a tarot card or two for each month. For each card Heather chose and interpreted, Stan said, "wait, I think I

have a song for that!"
Three hours later, they had a tarot inspired play list, and left with the question, "what just happened?" It was this experience that gave birth to Tarotunes! It started as a monthly show, and life happened, forcing a long hiatus. In 2021, they decided to bring the show back, this time on a (mostly) weekly basis to include different conversations around the cards, and to invite other people in the extended community to join them. Invited guests range from people with a general interest in tarot and music, to nationally known authors and tarot readers. This is an opportunity to join in the magic, ask questions, and even have a reading over the air.

Happy Pride! This month is filled with people standing up for their beliefs with peaceful protest, and are asserting their constitutional rights. This show is a bit of a script flip. Instead of doing a reading we will choose songs and cards to build and focus energy toward those standing, marching, dancing, and drumming for what is right.

What is Tarotunes? Tarotunes is a show dedicated to connection between the tarot and music. It is the connection between sound and symbol, energy and emotion. It is a happy "accident" that happened the first January of 2017 when I was invited to talk to Stan on his show Musical Conversations (Official).
I insisted on doing a reading for the coming year. For each card I drew and interpreted, Stan said, "I have a song for that." The show went like this for three hours ending with the question, "What just happened?" That night, Tarotunes was born.
Our scheduling shows this past fall and winter has made for inconsistent broadcasting. Work and illness have been major obstacles, so we appreciate your patience.
We are back tonight with a guest, and plan to bring you more exciting musical tarot fun moving forward.

How to Use the Spread
1. Set the Intention: Take a moment to ground yourself and focus on your desire to help the community.
2. Shuffle the Deck: As you shuffle, think about your connection to the cause and the question: “How can I best support relief efforts in Western North Carolina?”
3. Lay Out the Cards: Place the cards in the positions as outlined above.
4. Reflect and Interpret: After drawing the cards, take time to interpret their meanings in relation to the questions. Trust your intuition.
5. Take Action: Use the insights gained from the reading to guide your involvement in relief efforts while maintaining your own health.

Western North Carolina has been hit hard by the recent floods, leaving behind a trail of devastation that has displaced thousands and destroyed homes. The pain and loss in this community is immense, but we have the power to make a difference, no matter where we are—whether in Appalachia or across the globe.
Connect with boots on the ground organizations who are helping save these American lives by donating to their efforts.
I know there is an immense need for people willing to physically help but that is not a safe option for everyone.
This has been an incredibly deadly hurricane and the resilient, loving people of Appalachia have had entire towns wiped off the map. Listen to first hand accounts of people who are there right now.
Include WNC in your meditations, prayers and thoughts.
When you can’t see the deviation it is natural to carry on like buisness as usual but YOU have the ability to heal the collective.
Your awareness, intention and attention are incredible valuable in this situation.
Let’s come together and take action to support those in need. Every effort counts, and together we can help rebuild lives and bring hope to those who are struggling.
