It all started on January 2, 2001; South End Media began telling our clients’ stories. We believe businesses live and breathe. They’re as alive as their people and have a story to tell. That has never been more evident than in the moment we find ourselves. Small businesses like our clients are valuable members of their communities. They provide excellent, personal service. They employ local people. They contribute to their communities. Our job, more than ever is to help tell their stories and sell their product or service the best we can using every tool in the media world available to us today. And there’s a lot available to us.
That’s what makes it so much fun doing what we do. We’re amazed and inspired by the changes we’ve seen n the nearly 20 years we have been in business. When we started the internet was still in its infancy. Dial-up was more common. Small business websites, if they even existed were often very rudimentary. Social media barely existed. The idea of “work from home” for most was as futuristic as Westworld.
Today we’re using as many tools that budgets allow in the media landscape: traditional TV and radio, streaming TV and radio, websites, outdoor, mobile, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. We try to stay a step ahead of trends so that we can educate our clients to new ways to promote their businesses.
We are experts at “group advertising.” This is a form of marketing that makes it so small businesses with shared goals can pool resources into the buying power of larger companies and level the advertising playing field.
We’re a small group that partner with many other media and content providers to give you big service. Long before “work from home” was suddenly thrust on the American business-world, we were already doing that. Our team has always worked remotely. It’s allowed us to keep our overhead low and make our creative work more flexible. We were also ready to help our clients swiftly move their retail operations to remote working as the various states where they operate issued stay-at-home orders. Sometimes we’re more than just an advertising agency.
South End Media was founded by Kurt Muhlfelder near the end of 2000 after a successful 17-year radio career. Previous to starting South End Media, Kurt was Creative Services Director for Northeast Communications in Franklin, NH. He also hosted Mix 94.1 FM’s mid-day and afternoon shows.
South End Media was a 2006 NH Magazine Excellence in Business nominee in Marketing and Media.
Let us help tell your business’s story. Let us help you navigate this very trying moment that small businesses find themselves. We can effectively communicate your message at a budget that is comfortable for you to stimulate customers to act. Ask about our successes.
