As a man, and especially as a Black man, I believe it's essential to step out of the shadows and stand firmly against misogyny. I want to make it clear that I am supporting Kamala Harris. The idea of a woman leader doesn't threaten my sense of manhood; in fact, it fills me with pride to see a woman, a sister, achieve such remarkable heights. Character, integrity, and public behavior are what truly matter. Those who remain silent in the face of tyranny and threats to peace, tranquility, and democracy risk being shackled by the oppressive forces they fail to oppose.

These convictions align with the fundamental qualities that I have been taught my entire life from my grandparents, parents, family, community, church, school, the military, activism and masonry. All these people and great American institutions have taught me to strive for high moral standards, kindness at home, courtesy in society, honesty in business, and fairness in all dealings. I was taught to universally practice charity and to care not only for one another but for the entire community, the country and world through giving and volunteer efforts. Together, we should be working to help each other become better and to forge a better world.
That is the Future i want for not just myself but for my children, community and world.

Skiplagged works by using a loophole, where a flyer buys a cheaper ticket to a smaller airport with a layover at a bigger airport – even though they have no intention of getting on that second flight to the smaller airport.

For example, a flight from New York to Jacksonville is $187 with a layover in Miami. If a flyer wants to go to Miami, but those tickets are too expensive for their budget, Skiplagged books them on the cheaper Jacksonville flight – but the passenger never gets to Jacksonville, because they stay in Miami after their supposed layover.

What is "skiplagging," and why is American Airlines suing a company encouraging it?

The goal of Death Star is simple. The deeply conservative Texas Legislature wants to effectively deny cities—the state’s large Democratic-leaning cities, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin in particular—the ability to pass local laws and regulations in eight major policy areas: agriculture, business and commerce, finance, insurance, labor, natural resource law, occupational law, and property law. And it does all this in a bill that is 10 single-spaced pages long, nearly one page of which is legislative findings, not actual law. Which is where the problems begin.

The goal of Death Star is simple.

“More often than not, a wild bear will detect you first and flee from the area,” the forest service notes. “However, black bears that have become accustomed to humans and their foods may not run away.”

An investigation is underway after a 7-year-old child was reportedly attacked by a bear in Westchester County on Tuesday morning.

“Many of the Viking experiments involved applying water to the soil samples, which may explain the puzzling results,” Schulze-Makuch claimed in his article. “Perhaps the putative Martian microbes collected for the labelled release experiments couldn’t deal with that amount of water and died off after a while.”

He thinks we may have just not known how to recognize it yet.

Right now, the “why” of this change is still a mystery. But researchers have a few theories, including ice being present in greater amounts at the poles and what’s called “post-glacial rebound,” where land that was previously buried under layers of ice can rise once that ice is no longer present. Both of these circumstances would change the mass distribution of the planet, which can change its rotation.

Martian days are mysteriously getting shorter.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Wednesday the new BA.2.86 lineage of coronavirus may be more capable than older variants in causing infection in people who have previously had COVID-19 or who have received vaccines.
-Reuters

CDC said it was too soon to know whether this might cause more severe illness compared with previous variants. But due to the high number of mutations detected in this lineage, there were concerns about its impact on immunity from vaccines and previous infections, the agency said. Scientists are kee...

When Hansen appeared before the United States Senate in June of 1988, the world had just experienced the warmest first five months of any year in recorded history, The New York Times reported at the time.

Up until that time, scientists had been cautious about blaming the warming of the planet on pollutants put into the air by human activity. But Hansen told the committee that NASA was 99% certain that the warming trend was caused by the buildup of carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere.

Legal experts believe the police raid on the newspaper violated a federal privacy law or a state law shielding journalists from having to identify sources or to turn over unpublished material to law enforcement.
