Sinners directed by Ryan Coogler (Also made Black Panther) starring Michael B Jordan. My honest review: 6/10! Category: Sci-fi + Thriller. This is a Rated R movie with some s*x scenes. NO SPOILER REVIEW

It follows twin brothers and some friends through one evening in the 1930s (Jim Crowe Era). They open a night club and invite the town. They are then greeted by Vampires. I had high expectations for the movie but it fell short... Here's why:

⭐The beginning moves at a really slow rate. I believe the scenes included in the beginning were definitely necessary to build the story but they were heavily drawn out... Dialogue felt all over the place and random

⭐ Cinematography was great. Lighting was good consistently. No complaints there but VFX felt elementary. Blood looked like tomato juice. Cuts and wounds looked like a high school drama club level work. The fangs and glowing eyes seemed to be the only redeeming factor in this category.

⭐Plot/storyline. Overall it had a decent storyline. Acting was definitely PHENOMENAL. The emotions felt real. The chemistry and relationships didn't feel forced. They pretty much stuck to the script but some scenes in between felt drawn out and unnecessary. Action sequences were average. Not bad but not amazing. Some scenes definitely had you on edge wondering what would happen next!

Overall, give it a watch anyways! Superb acting, decent CGI and effects, decent action, good storyline. Just can't call it an amazing movie. Had some jump scares but more annoying than scary. Just loud noises.

Just a short video fo my 5 mile run! Can you name all the places I ran by? lol Currently training for a half marathon!

As I said in the video, running is not always fun necessarily. You will have bad days and ugly days! That will happen but KEEP GOING! Today was one of those! Getting chased by a dog, throwing up, dry mouth, blisters, sore calves. Buut burning that fat baby!!

Huge congrats to Chef Yia Vang for being named Chef of the year by Esquire and for his restaurant, Vinai, being named one of the best new restaurants by multiple sources!

Chef Yia, has left an everlasting impression on me through the videos and interviews that I have seen him in. He ALWAYS spoke about the Hmong people in such a positive light. He makes you feel proud to be Hmong and encourages learning more about it. He shares parts of our history and roots through the experience he offers at Vinai. Chef Yia is an advocate for the Hmong in many ways and that is made clear through his eloquence. Thank you for all that you do for the Hmong and congratulations on your awards and accolades! Much deserved!

I encourage my Hmong brothers and sisters learn to be advocates for each other. I hope you are proud to be Hmong. I'll never stop saying it, "Hmoob hlub Hmoob tshaj!"

The magazine also named Vinai one of the best new restaurants in the country.

Why Sunisa Lee winning the gold medal is one of the most monumental moments in HMONG HISTORY and why Hmong people should be so proud of her. I also speak on the significance of her being a 6 time medalist despite meeting adversity. This is a small snippit from my lecture at a local community college!

This was a fun little experiment that was suggested to me! Just wanted to have some fun with the Hmong folks attending the 2024 NC Hmong New Year! I am beyond honored and privileged to be given the opportunity to educate the local community AND beyond about my culture, my heritage and MY PEOPLE! Thank you to Mulan L. and Dr. Johnny Scott for reaching out to me directly. I am a huge advocate for the Hmong in every which way and am a firm believer that "Hmoob Hlub Hmoob Tshaj!" If you are available November 19th at 12:00PM NOON, come listen in on this 1 hour lecture! I intend to inform you about all things relating to Hmong history! This will include historical facts, food, traditions and more! I will also discuss the current state of the Hmong people in relation to those topics and what the future might entail for the Hmong in America!

It's What's Inside on Netflix. My honest review: 9.5/10! Category: Sci-fi + Thriller. NO SPOILER REVIEW

It follows a group of friends through an evening before one of them gets married in the morning. They play a game similar to Mafia (and you already know how crazy that game can get) but with a Sci-fi twist!! Probably one of the highest rated films I've ever watched! Here's why:

⭐The beginning is a bit slow but it's introductions. That's normal. However, it was done really well! Each character in the movie has a distinct personality. The actors do a fantastic job portraying it all. This is the foundation of the movie that sets up the rest of the film. The pace picks up a bit, but it's Netflix. You can pause as needed to catch up and collect your thoughts!

⭐ Cinematography was on point. Camera angle, transitions, uses of light effects, post production editing and vfx, all REALLY stellar for a fairly low budget movie! ($2 MILLION vs hundreds of millions)

⭐Plot/storyline. Nothing felt excessive, unnecessary. It stuck to the story line. Things just got more intense as the movie went on! Plot twists kept happening. I think it also follows a realistic interaction between friends and even how DEVIOUS people can be when they think they won't get caught! The ending though?!?! Biggest plot twist. As a viewer, it leaves you guessing what will happen next too! Of course the ending gets explained too so it'll help clarify things for you.

Overall, give it a watch! The deductions just come from me being a nitpicker. Some small things could've been better but hey not gonna complain. Go support small film makers to encourage gems like this! This isn't so much a horror movie. More so a thriller! Great job to the director and the awesome cast! Job well done!
