Moons ago at the Hall Of Fame in New York with former Hvywt contender Gerry Cooney! It had ONLY been 30 yrs since I interviewed him on Grand Canyon Boxing in Phx. for which I was doing color commentary. Boxing folks actually make up a small, but very close community, especially those who have been on the map!!!

One of my last fights in 1986 with (L - R) Trainer Henry Harris, and seconds Mack and Chas. Walker ... ending in a ten-round draw, but it led to world ratings in the super-middleweight and light-heavywt divisions ... which, sadly, did not end in a world title fight!

We've now lost Leon, Howard, Davey, and Big John (Michael is just absent in this pic, but still among the living!) Great friends one and all!!! THE 1976 OLYMPIC BOXING TEAM!!! Set of a Walker Cable Production of a western we shot in Mtgmry, Tx. 30 yrs ago!!! The "then-small-town" was transformed: Dirt on Main Street was hauled in to cover the black-top and we drove a herd of about 25 cows down it ... we hid the telephone poles in shooting ... wardrobe was real - if not absolutely perfect to the period ... guns and hardware were close enough to be believable ... An actor nearly went to war with a driver who didn't want to stop ... And when the cops got upset, the then-mayor went to bat for us saying, "I guess the chief of police has forgotten who's the boss of this town!!!" (No reflection on the current power structure). The film was horrible, but very good for the "absent budget" we had!!!

Something like ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST in 1865!!!

1993 ... On set: The Waker Cable Production of RINGS, which is actually a boxing movie. (L) Former Interntl. Model, Kim Waltrip who became a successful actress and now is producing BIG movies!!! (R) A 35 yr old Chuck Waker directing his rump off!!! Amazingly the film was shot for a total of $35,000 and fetched $225,000 in the international video and TV market!!!
