When you are rolling past the CDT in Montana, and stop for lunch at the first place you can find … then you run into a couple that are biking the trail. How cool.

Talked with them a little which spurred up some jealousy big time. I want to do that!

Catching snow in Glacier NP was awesome. It was almost July! And snow! What?!

Glacier National Park. Beautiful.

The “Going to the Sun Road” opened a few days before we arrived. When we arrived at the top at the parking lot of the visitors center, it was encased in clouds.

Going down the backside the rangers were putting up “Road Closed” signs as they were expecting 24” of snow.

Perfect timing on our part. We headed to North Dakota.

Pulled this one out of the archives. Ghana Africa. We were headed to visit a safari when we saw this tourist place on the side of the road. It had a large pond with a walkway built up down the center.

Sign said $20 you can sit on an alligator. I was young and dumb. Not my finest moment and makes me cringe thinking about it to this day.

We walked down the path between what seemed like hundreds of alligators laying next to the water to the end where the largest of them all was waiting. He knew what was coming I think. Lol.

The worker held a live chicken in front of it while I held the tail and then said on the prehistoric beast. I could feel his lungs breathing between my hands. The man said “that is enough!” So I got up and moved out of the way. The man threw the chicken down and the alligator moved with lightning speed devouring the helpless bird.

I had no idea they could move that fast. Now I do. Yep. Never will I ever do that again.

All setup. National Forest Campground in Montana. All of the free sites around were taken. So $15 it is. At least it had a nice bathroom.

The Ketchikan Salmon Walk in AK

– A 1.5‑mile loop following Ketchikan Creek, mirroring the exact upstream route salmon take to spawn each summer .
