Spent a weekend studying, learning and praying with the Subiaco Abbey Monks at Subiaco Abbey in Arkansas. What a refreshing, quiet, amazing time with these godly men who have given their lives to the service and prayer to God.

Definitely the most intricate work I’ve done to date. A notebook for myself. Preaching or teaching. Had to put dome extra time into this one because I wanted it perfect.

She did great. Didn’t fall in the creek once! Haha. Had to keep my eye on her though. Just because of past experiences.

Gia was an amazing trooper. She made every step I did. Right behind me the whole way. She tried something new. Trail runners instead of high top hiking boots. So much lighter and easier on the feet. No problems at all.

Day 1 of trail. So hot but so worth it. Understanding at this point why I should have prepared more for this trip. Not sure my calves will ever work this soreness out.

This old mama deer would not get out of the way! She was right on trail! Finally had to walk and almost push her out of the way so we could pass.

It was so funny. My phone is always kept in my Chicken Tramper Ultralight Gear pocket on my pack. I’ve never had this happen because we usually don’t backpack when it’s hot. But you have to take whatever the weather gives you sometimes.

I would take my phone out to take pics. And it wasn’t even up against my body where the heat was radiating. But the camera would still fog up. Just another small detailed memory that made this trip so special.

South Haven MI… my wife wanted to go somewhere cold right after Christmas instead of flying south for the winter like we have done the last couple of years. Ok. I’m game. Why not. It’s only supposed to snow a few inches the first couple of days.

This was the first day of many. The wind was unreal. I couldn’t even roll the window down without getting my skin ripped off by sand flying through the air in the 40 plus mph winds.

After this day it snowed and snowed and snowed and kept snowing for 7 days until we left and about 17” of lake effect snow later.

I gotta hand it to the Michigan DOT though. They know how to clear some interstates. Thank you for your hard work and getting us home safe.

Can’t go without this. It’s so nice especially when you use collapsible bottles from Cnoc Outdoors … almost impossible to be a one man show and filter water into the bottle and hold the bottle. So now I just hang it and do something else. Amazing how such a small gadget can make such a huge difference in quality of life.

My adapter froze and split this past weekend. Was leaking water pretty badly so E6000 to the rescue! Ordered a couple extras today from Hilltop Packs Apex Giant because I’m spoiled to them and can’t be without. Lol.
