Big mountain bird and we couldn’t help but mess with him a little. Don’t pay no attention to my buddy’s mouth calling, but that old boy flat lit up the whole mountain with a shock gobble. That’s the kind of thunder that’ll make the hair stand up on the back of your neck every single time.

What I enjoy most about the time between turkey season and deer season is watching the next generation grow. Seeing these fawns on the farm get a little bigger every week is something special. I love harvesting deer and putting meat in the freezer, but I enjoy sitting back and watching them just as much. The woods aren’t always about the hunt sometimes they’re about appreciating the wildlife, the memories, and the blessings right in front of you.

Never can get enough of these smallies. If you know, you know. When a smallmouth hits a bait, they don’t just bite it they try to rip the rod out of your hands. Pound for pound, they’ll fight harder than just about anything that swims in freshwater. That’s just my opinion, but it’s one I’ll stand by every time.

Early morning tank of a sow making it hard not to go get some bacon. 🐗

She’s been showing up regular, and every time she steps out, the temptation gets a little stronger. One of these mornings she might just make a trip from the swamp to the freezer. That’s a whole lot of bacon walking around right there.

Trophy hunters chasing big racks sometimes have a hard time relating to the everyday hunter who’s simply grateful to put venison in the freezer. At the end of the day, it’s not always about inches of antler or a score sheet—it’s about the memories made, the time spent outdoors, and providing for your family. Every harvest is a blessing, whether it’s a giant buck or a doe. Appreciate the small things, stay humble, and never forget what hunting is really about.

Never take those moments fishing with my old man for granted. He’s the one who taught me how to tie a knot, cast a line, and appreciate the outdoors. Some of my best memories have been made on the water with him. The fish are great, but the time spent together is what means the most. Those are the moments that stick with you for a lifetime. 🎣❤️

Put the screens down and pick up a fishing rod. Climb a tree stand. Listen to a gobbler sound off at daylight. It’s on us to pass down the traditions we were blessed to grow up with. Hunting, fishing, and time in the outdoors build memories and values that last a lifetime. The next generation won’t learn it unless we take them with us.
