So today i got a letter from my management company addressing the last inspection of my apartment. It said i had to clean the clutter in the living room and bedrooms as they are a fire hazard. that the bathroom was unsanitary. I had an unreasonable amount of dishes in the sink which is unsanitary. Also my oven and stove need cleaning. they are going to reinspect a week from now. 1. there's hardly any clutter in the living room or my son's room-- some clutter in my room, mostly the clean laundry on my bed. 2. the bathroom was clean. There was stuff we had used to get ready that morning on the counter but everything was wiped down 3. I barely had any dishes in the sink, and they had been rinsed off and cleaned with dish detergent and left while my extremely tiny dishwasher was running. 4. i honestly don't remember what my oven and stove looked like, but i hardly use the oven and the stove metal thingies were obviously in the sink (i took pictures immediately after she left), which tells me i had just wiped it down. This is a picture of my living room which she claimed was a fire hazard due to the 'clutter on the floor'.
Who do i contact? Does anyone know? Housing Authority said they only take complaints from section eight occupants. Then I was referred to another place, the man there told me he didn't handle that type of thing either, he transferred my call to some other organization. I left a voice mail and haven't heard back. This is absolutely ridiculous. Oh and i should mention, they started these inspections fairly soon after the second time i had to call the police into my neighborhood. The first time I had heard gunshots, and the second there was a crazy man pounding on my door at 9:30 at night. Also, i checked the website today and it looks like rent has increased, but not by very much, for new tenants. What do i do? I almost feel like shes just trying to inconvenience me until i move. This cant be legal.
I'm a single working mother of a four year old little boy. Realistically, this is about as good as it's going to get. Unless I start ignoring my son during the few hours that we are home together to deep clean everything everyday.
