A historic donation made by Pete Fitzpatrick is set to advance Coastal Carolina University’s baseball program and increase national visibility.

Fitzpatrick asked university officials to keep specific information concerning his donation private. However, the funds will be used in several ways. It aims to redirect allocation of funds to the athletes.

Coastal Carolina University hosted a town hall meeting on March 4 and 5 to discuss the name change of the Division of University Belonging and Student Affairs to the “Division of Student Affairs.”

The change comes in response to new bills being introduced through President Donald Trump’s administration to remove diversity, equity and inclusion programs from federally funded schools.

To reach veterans on campus, the office reestablished Warrior Wednesday: a weekly meeting where students can connect with resources available through the office and meet fellow student veterans.

A wildfire sparked in Carolina Forest, just over 5 miles from Coastal Carolina University’s campus, on Saturday, March 1.

Many families were forced to evacuate to escape the fire and the smoke. They were sent to Carolina Forest Community Center as well as the Carolina Forest Recreation Center. Most families were able to return home Sunday afternoon.
