NCSS school district officials have been in communications today with the National Weather Service and our local emergency management agency. After today’s discussions, out of an abundance of caution due to the unpredictable nature of the upcoming storms, Newton County Schools will implement an Early Release Day tomorrow, Friday, January 12. Students will be released tomorrow as follows:

• Elementary and Newton County STEAM Academy students will be dismissed at 11:15 AM;
• High School students will be released at 12:15 PM;
• And middle school students will be dismissed at 1:15 PM.

Lunch will be served at schools before students are dismissed and all students who ride school buses home in the afternoon will be transported to their normal bus stops.

We encourage all parents and families to use caution while traveling tomorrow. If by chance the weather patterns change overnight resulting in needed adjustments to our schedule, we will notify you as soon as possible.
