Let me just openly admit something. It’s embarrassing. As I’ve shared this with other photographers I’ve gotten the response: “it’s my worst fear…”
I shot a series of recital performances a couple months ago. I still haven’t delivered them. The biggest reason is the amount of work I have on my plate has limited the time I can spend on editing. It was a huge project, but it should have been done by now. It still isn’t. It was rough from the jump. After shooting all the performances, I had the different casts saved in different places. And I unintentionally deleted an entire cast of photos. Like, super deleted them. Took me about 40 mins to figure it out and then I quickly made my way to Cardinal Computer. About 10 days later they called me with good news “we were able to save a lot of them”. Not all, but a whole lot. A big issue was that my folder structure was now long gone and a fair amount of the files were corrupted. Including adjusted file names… it was hard to sort through.
That was Cast A. I’ve finally made it through all of the cast. I’m not done with the other casts, but they will not require all the organizing work I had to do on these.
Anyway - for the client and dance moms that have been waiting, here is (at least) a little peak at some.
