..FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following
counties, Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland,
Davidson, De Kalb, Dickson, Fentress, Giles, Grundy, Hickman,
Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Macon, Marshall,
Maury, Montgomery, Overton, Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson,
Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren,
Wayne, White, Williamson and Wilson.

* WHEN...From Monday morning through Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A swath of heavy rainfall is expected to set up across Middle
TN Monday. Confidence is low on exact placing, but confidence
is high that atmospheric conditions will be favorable for
heavy rainfall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

Help build the future of outdoor recreation at Window Cliffs State Natural Area! 🌲πŸ₯Ύ
Join our park rangers for two exciting volunteer trail-building days as we work on the new Pyro Trail. Volunteers will assist with removing dirt, roots, stumps, and trees to help create a new trail experience for future visitors. The trail is less than a mile long but includes some elevation change, so be prepared for a rewarding day of hands-on work outdoors!
Before attending, please register and come prepared with:
πŸ’§ At least 64 oz. of water
πŸ₯ͺ Snacks and/or lunch
πŸ‘– Long pants and long sleeves (recommended due to poison ivy)
πŸ‘Ÿ Closed-toed shoes (required)
Tools, gloves, and eye protection will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own.

🚧 Street Closure Notice – South Maple Avenue

Please be advised that South Maple Avenue between England Drive and Highway 111 will be closed daily from Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12, 2026, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The City of Cookeville Public Works Department will be performing shoulder upgrades and stabilization along this section of roadway.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Highway 111, during work hours. Local residents will maintain access but are asked to follow posted detour signage to avoid delays and unnecessary turnarounds.

We appreciate your patience as these improvements are completed and will provide updates if the schedule changes.
