New House On Campus!

Today was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new Mansell House, a wonderful project that will benefit students with special needs in the Putnam County School System. Thank you to Mr. Randy Mansell, the construction class of 2026, and our wonderful industry partners that made this possible!

Cookeville High School names new Head Basketball Coach

Cookeville High School proudly welcomes Coach Josh Heard back home to lead the CAVS boys basketball program. Coach Heard had previously led the Cavaliers for five seasons and to the first state tournament win in 70 years of the school’s history. Cookeville celebrated state tournament wins over Maryville and Bartlett and finished the 2023-24 season 32-4, losing to Independence High School in the Class 4A state championship game. He finished his tenure at Cookeville with a 97-59 overall career record. In the summer of 2024, Coach Heard resigned his position as Coach and Teacher and moved to the Nashville area with his family. Coach Heard is delighted to return to the Cookeville community and take care of some unfinished business, leading the Cavalier Basketball Team back to the state tournament on a quest for a gold ball.
