A familiar face in Osseo has died.

A familiar face in Osseo has died. Richard “Dick” Welk, owner of the Osseo Meat Market, died on Aug. 29, according to an announcement by the market.

It is with absolute heartbreak that we share that Richard “Dick” Welk gained his Angel wings on Saturday, August 29th at 7:15pm.

Dick has been battling Parkinson’s for 8 plus years. Over the last 3 years, he was unable to be with us at the meat market. Many have kindly asked “how is Dick doing” as you were coming into shop. We wanted to share our tremendous loss with all of you. He missed seeing his customers and sharing a joke or story with you.

Dick poured his heart and soul into the Osseo Meat Market for over the last 48 years. We will continue with his legacy of providing an unwavering dedication to quality and service.

We will forever miss Dick’s larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and endless supply of jokes.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 20th. We will post details as soon as things are finalized.
