Maple Grove Police negotiating with barricaded individual

(Maple Grove, MN) Maple Grove police officers were dispatched to a report of an individual pointing a firearm at several individuals while walking down the street in the area of 13200 block of 90th Avenue N. Officers attempted to approach the individual where he entered a townhome. Officers are currently negotiating with this individual. Hennepin County Dispatch sent out a message for residents in the immediate area to shelter in place. This incident is not related with the manhunt involved in the Champlin and Brooklyn Park incident. The situation is contained as officers continue their efforts to negotiate. Further updates will be provided when available.
