I just now reconnected with a very genuine FRIEND and LEGEND, Doug Brown from Silverton, Oregon. Doug became a WORLD CHAMPION rodeo cowboy! Doug is going to try to be at this year’s Lincoln County Rodeo at Chinook Winds Casino on July 4th and 5th. I’ve been named “rodeo announcer” of this annual event and I’m inviting all my friends to join me on the 4th of July weekend for this big rodeo event!

I hope all my. friends will join me for two important upcoming events. On Saturday, April 11th, I'll be introducing the BREWS AND GIGGLES comedy show benefit for Ronald McDonald Charities on Oregon at the Egyptian Theater in Coos Bay. (It's IN YOUR FACE, 21-and over raw comedy!). Then, on July 4th and 5th, I'll be announcing the big Lincoln County Rodeo at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City with the beautiful Pacific as our backdrop! It's all a part of this year's Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo. This year is going down as LEGENDARY!

Over the weekend, Roger W. Morgan met with the rodeo producers, Howell Rodeo Company, and Lincoln County Fair And Rodeo Committee to review the site of this July’s Fair and Rodeo. Roger has been chosen to be the official voice of the rodeo this year held at Chinook Winds Resort and Casino with a spectacular backdrop of the beautiful Pacific in the background. Plan to join THE LEGEND for this grand event this July 4th and 5th in Lincoln City!

From our perch here in our Tioga Hotel studios above Broadway in Coos Bay, we're pretty excited to observe all the progress in the Bay Area including new businesses that are opening and new projects that are developing. The facility on the waterfront to create and store wood pellets to be shipped to Japan and that proposed Container Port project are just two of the exciting projects that remind us of how proud we are to be here on Oregon's South Coast where we're all in for a brisk economy and a bright future for all of us! LEGENDARY!!! GOOD MORGAN!

This kind and gentle soul has left the stage. He is Jerry Butler, perhaps best remembered as a member of The Impressions. He has been a guest on my radio program many times over the years. As his life focused on politics in his most recent years, we would often end interviews by my asking about his political rivals. Jerry was quick to pick up on my cue: I would say, “He don’t love you…” and Jerry would quickly follow with, “Like I love you, AND HE NEVER WILL!” One of the kindest most wonderful gentlemen I’ve EVER known

At this point in my life, I’ve pretty much given up on the notion there might be more remarkable surprises to arrive. But yesterday, I got one of the BEST EVER! I’ve been chosen to be the voice of the Lincoln County Fair and rodeo on July 4th and 5th as their RODEO ANNOUNCER. For those who know about the role that RODEO has played in my life from my most tender years, you already know what an honor I consider this to be. This year’s rodeo will have the beautiful Pacific as a backdrop as it comes from the beach at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City!

For a number of years, I have proudly sent my voice into markets across America via my Neumann TLM 103. I am NOT a broadcast engineer but I have counted on some of the industry’s best to reassure me to keep it stored in its original box when it wasn’t in use in places where I’ve worked including Omaha, Indianapolis, Portland, Seattle San Diego and San Francisco (and a few markets “faraway with strange-sounding names). My care has kept it free of scratches and flaws that often lessen the value of equipment we often use to enhance our normal voices. I have every reason to feel it has maintained its integrity while I, personally, may have lost some of my luster. I believe my asking price of $850 is more than fair and that’s why I’m FIRM on this.
