I’m supporting **Texas HB 136**, a bill that would make lactation care a covered benefit for families across the state. As lactation specialist pursuing my IBCLC, I’ve seen firsthand how essential access to lactation support is for parents and babies. Unfortunately, many families can’t afford these critical services, leading to unnecessary challenges in their breastfeeding journeys.

I’m a small part of a group called
✨Radical Moms Union✨
which is a true grassroots movement of moms against predatory formula marketing. Our campaign against the predatory marketing by a specific and popular formula company created so much momentum that we got a zoom call with the CEO of the formula company today and our leaders in the group were able to share their stories and why we are fighting against this marketing.

We have some birth workers, doulas, and lactation consultants in the group but the biggest title we all have is we’re all MOTHERS. Our group is leading with our biggest role which is being moms and that title alone is what makes us experts. The call was incredible to witness and brought me to tears at several points to see what can happen when we join together against these corporations that only see us as $$$$ signs.

I’ve never been more proud to be a mother and to stand with other mothers than I have today 💪🏻💕

pregnancy is not meant to be cured or managed, it’s meant to be surrendered to.

God is the creator and the gifter of life, we need only to be still.

Pregnancy is a waiting season, a sowing, a planting and awaiting the harvest.

psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night… but joy is coming” 🌱

Have you ever heard of the term MATRESCENCE? 🦋

Sadly, most of us have not even though it is an integral word to describe the extreme life event women go through when they become a mother.

We are constantly bombarded with messages about postpartum depression and anxiety but yet never any mention of the term that attributes entrance into motherhood as a new stage of development for a woman?

Matrescence can be compared to adolescence in the fact that it requires grace and adjustment as you navigate through it. We give grace and patience to teenagers evolving through puberty yet we offer “she must have postpartum depression” when a mother is going through one of the biggest life events she could ever experience?

The world says we “lose our identity in motherhood” which is untrue. We are going through matrescence and the constant push to “go back” to a stage of development you have surpassed will leave you feeling inadequate. I encourage you to not believe the lie that your identity is lost,
rather you are learning a new one 🦋🦋🦋🦋

I want to bring awareness and highlight those of us who have suffered or are suffering with HG: Hyperemesis Gravidarum ❤️‍🩹

Many Hg Moms lost their babies to this disease 💔

Hg is often ignored or trivialized which is a great injustice to those of us who have been torn apart by it

To all of the HG Survivors, thank you for fighting for your babies life when you felt like you were losing yours 🙌🏻
