We stopped mid-scroll when we saw this whimsical map of the River Arts District on social media.
Illustrated by Cuban artist + poster designer Miguel Monkc, the map features six recommended neighborhood stops: ceramic art gallery Gallery Mugen, plēb urban winery, Hi-Wire Brewing, North Carolina Glass Center Vivian, and Grail Moviehouse.
Also cool? The map appears in the January 2022 issue of Hemispheres Magazine by United Airlines, so it will likely help introduce more folks to Asheville’s beauty, history, and unique cultural offerings.
We are honored to have been included in Hemispheres Magazine alongside our neighbors in Bronzeville. Take a look at A Guide to Milwaukee's Historic Bronzeville Neighborhood:
"Much to the delight of visitors to Lisbon, the Valverde reopened this past June. The design firm Bastir grafted together the buildings, including the original 1889 structure, almost seamlessly—the elevators have half-floor stops to help connect the buildings, a charming quirk. The room count increased from 25 to 48, and 10 of those new rooms have terraces that face the open-air pool deck, which is enclosed by a mash-up of extant walls and sleek black metal additions." - in February's issue of Hemispheres Magazine.

Racine gets some great coverage from Hemispheres Magazine — writer Cassandra Brooklyn says that "This Wisconsin Town Is the Ideal Stopover Between Milwaukee and Chicago." We agree!
Thanks for the article, Hemispheres Magazine!
Almost 5 years ago the SCAD - The University for Creative Careers, awarded me the Educator Scholarship, which covered at that time the 50% of the Illustration Master degree in fine arts. Unfurtunately I hadn't enough money to cover the other 50%, ($18.000) per year, $36.000 in total. I was living in Havana at that time and I couldn't safe enough to pay the studies. I neither had the chance to apply to the usa government aids since I was a foreign an Cuban. I consider this school as one of the top in the world, it's located in Savannah, Georgia, the same city I have the chance now to make this illustrated map for Hemispheres Magazine and Ink Global. I feel very happy for all I had lived and had happened to me since then. I'm really proud of myself. This map featured 6 recommended stops to visit.

"I feel the first sign of the Extra’s capabilities right at takeoff. You know the thrill of a rollercoaster’s first drop? It’s like that, except going up. Tex gets us up to elevation and levels us out, then turns the controls over to me." -- Todd Munson (AKA Maverick), Hemispheres Magazine
