Who does not love a good sandwich? Over the years they have taken on countless forms, and for this edition of Quick Bites we went to see what the Gables has to offer.

Madruga Bakery “Smoked Salmon Sandwich” cool and tangy with dill cream cheese on a toasted baguette. Get there early, this place moves.

Fuku “The Sando” Japanese-style fried chicken that’s juicy, salty, and tucked into a butter-toasted potato roll.

Jholano’s Deli “The Jholano” prosciutto, mortadella, salami, and brie pressed on focaccia, with fig jam that absolutely steals the show.

Sanguich “Pan con Bistec” tender steak and mojo on Cuban bread that’s crisp outside, pillowy inside.

Frankie & Wally’s “The Chopped Cheese” Wagyu beef, New School American cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, and bodega sauce.

Save this for your next lunch run. Full reviews at the link in our bio. 🔗

🍣 You’re seated next to seven strangers and there’s caviar on almost every course.

Somehow, this may be one of Coral Gables’ more interesting new dinner concepts.

Common Ground, created by IRL Miami and The Bakery’s Raameel Anwaar, combines omakase-style dining with networking and conversation inside an intimate eight-seat setting. The first dinner featured chef Marco Levy of Yubi Box Sushi serving 12 courses, including Bluefin tartare, stone crab elote, toro nigiri, and more caviar than anyone reasonably expected.

From crispy Roman-style pizza by the slice at Belluz Pizza to Lebanese plates at Marhaba and Japanese fried chicken sandwiches at Fuku, there’s a lot worth adding to your weekend food list. We also stopped by Pastor at Pascal, where the warm Basque-style cheesecake might quietly steal the entire meal.
