On July 4th, 2023, Corbett held a 4th of July celebration. Activities included a pancake breakfast, the Jeff Lucas Memorial Parade, a Classic Car Cruise at the Corbett Grade School, and much more.

Last Thursday, on May 18th, the Corbett Fire District, along with Gresham Fire and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, showcased some of their new lifesaving equipment.

On March 3rd and 4th, Corbett High School’s robotics team competed in an event in Clackamas. Corbett’s robotics team is called Cardinal Dynamics. They participate in an event held by FIRST. FIRST is an international organization that challenges students to form a team, raise money, build a robot and compete against other teams of students. Each year, robots must be built to complete different specific tasks. Some examples are; climbing a rope, stacking boxes, traversing monkey bars, picking up cones and much more.

On the morning of Wednesday, February 22nd, a winter storm struck Corbett. The Corbett School District decided to power through and stay open. Unfortunately, the weather continued to worsen. Snow kept accumulating throughout the day. Not wanting to take any more chances, the School District decided to close school early.

Yesterday, the Corbett School District held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Woodard 2020 Bond Project. This groundbreaking ceremony was held at 4:15 PM and had a short speech by the school’s superintendent, Dr. Derek Fialkiewicz.

On October 8th Corbett Fire will be doing a wet down ceremony to welcome their new fire engine. The wet down is scheduled to start at 1pm.
Their will also be a community garage sale happening behind the fire station between 11 to 4.
In addition to all of this there will also be food available, activities for kids, info about the new bond, and presentation of the Heine Ziegler Award.
