In a hearing today, District Judge Donna Dirickson dismissed the Wash*ta County Assessor's lawsuit against The Wash*ta County Board of Commissioners and Excise Board. The suit originated from budget issues at the beginning of the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The Assessor's Office alleged that they were not given sufficient funds to carry out their duties for the fiscal year, which ended on June 30, 2026.

Early voting for the June 16th Primary Election will be held Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12th from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and will ALSO be held on SATURDAY, June 13th from 8 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. In this week's issue of the Beacon it was incorrectly stated as Thursday and Friday only. Your vote is needed!!
