🚨 If your original Xbox asks you to set the date and time every time you turn it on, DON’T ignore it!

That could be a warning sign that the infamous clock capacitor has failed. A leaking capacitor can potentially damage the motherboard and turn a perfectly good retro console into a very expensive paperweight. 😬

But here’s the part a lot of people get wrong: you can’t treat every original Xbox the same. Different kernel versions and motherboard revisions require different considerations, and removing the clock capacitor from a 1.6/1.6b motherboard can cause the console to stop powering on.

In this video, I explain how to identify the different Xbox revisions and then completely tear down my special edition Halo original Xbox to remove the capacitor and help protect it for the future.

⚠️ Your original Xbox could be slowly destroying itself… and this might be the warning sign. 😳

I found this Mad Catz Original Xbox light gun for only $10! 🎯🎮

When I first tried playing House of the Dead 3, the gun wouldn’t calibrate correctly. I thought I might need to adjust the settings on my CRT TV, but that wasn’t the problem.

I eventually figured out my Xbox component cables were going through an AV switch box. I plugged them directly into the TV and the light gun immediately started working perfectly! 🔫

This thing is seriously cool. It has features like auto fire, burst fire, shotgun mode, and auto reload that make it feel like you’re using mods. 😂

Beating House of the Dead 3 also unlocks House of the Dead 2, which brought back some serious Dreamcast nostalgia!

I also explain why these classic light guns work on CRT TVs but don’t work properly with modern flat-screen TVs.

Not bad for a $10 retro gaming find! 🔥
